Snow Day!!!!!

We have had a decent amount of snow lately, but it has been waaaaay to cold to take the kids outside. Yesterday, we woke up to about 4", and it was around 30!

In the afternoon, we all got bundled up and headed out to play. Poor Trace doesn't have any snow bibs yet, so I made him wear the zip up pajamas with a sweatshirt and lined track pants over it - plus his "farmer jacket" - it's amazing he could walk! He did a great job keeping his gloves and hat on, too! For some reason, Taylor has decided that her snow jacket, which is Pink with some Green/Pink Camoflage on it, is "ugly" and she refused to wear it. Can you say Diva?

The kids had a great time sledding down a little hill in our yard, and John made them a snowman! We had a little freezing rain, so the snowman wasn't very cooperative, but he was good enough! Trace kept decapitating the poor snowman, so the snowman was forced to take out a protective order to keep him away.

Sledding down the hill! Whee!

Of course, Trace HAD to have a tractor ride!

  2. Ooooh! The snow is gorgeous. When I see pictures like that I wish we lived in a place that snows.

  3. Awww! Cute photos! I'm glad the kids had so much fun! We ended up with 6 inches but with a nice hard layer of thick ice over top of it!

  4. Sometimes I wish that we lived where it snows, but then I think about some of the hassles the snow brings and am glad that we don't. We can drive about an hour east and hit snow, so we'll have to deal with that. Plus we have the family cabin, but haven't made it up there yet this winter.
I can't wait until tomorrow to show Caitlyn the pictures of the kids! She's gonna love them!

  8. Great pictures. I love how you called Taylor a diva. They looked adorable bundeled up in the snow. How the Protective Order keeps the snowman up for a few more days. I also must applaud your creativity for Trace's snowclothes. Preston has none right now, so good thing it is not snowing in Richmond!

Simon always gets excited about Trace's tractor photos - I have a feeling it won't be long before he is asking his PopPop to take him for a ride on the tractor!

  12. Destini!
I love the pictures. Taylor is such a "girl" the coat suddenly became ugly, I love it! ... there is a reason I only wanted boys :0) Remember I work in a middle school and middle school girls are the worse!
I'm surprised Trace could walk with those layers :0)
Do you think maybe when our little buddies FGER3 gene (I think that's the right gene) didn't develop correctly it added "extra" to the ornery and personality genes? There are several of us LP mommies who have our hands full with orneriness (sp) :0)
I hope you guys continue to enjoy the snow!

  13. OMG! Those pictures are too cute! I think that Taylor and Hannah would get along great...or maybe not. The diva's might fight. Hannah will not wear her pink coat because it is "too puffy!" Her grandma bought her a new coat and it was "too soft!" OK, whatever girl!
