One WILD Birthday!!!

This year, with Trace in casts and turning the big 4, we wanted to make his birthday party extra special. So, my sister and I had the boys' birthday party at the Pittsburgh Zoo! We have wonderful friends that traveled the 2 hours to Pittsburgh to help them celebrate - even in the rain!

It was POURING the rain down when we got about an hour from the zoo. Trace asked me if God could make the rain stop, and I said he could ask. So, he prayed that God would make the rain stop for his party - and his prayers were answered! It did drizzle on and off, but it was a great day to be at the zoo - comfortable temperatures, active animals, and little crowd!

The zoo has a great party package - they do everything, lunch, drinks, provide treat bags & a safari hat for each child, and extra special treat bags for the birthday boys, as well as provide the cake and icecream. They also serve it all, clean it up, and even list your gifts and bag them up and take them to the gate to be picked up on the way out! We opted for the small animal show in addition, which was really cool. Zoo volunteers brought out an opossum, chinchilla, skink, and bearded dragon. They talked about each animal, and let all the kids pet each one. The show lasted about 20 minutes, and the kids were all enthralled!

We had a great time and can't wait to return to the zoo later this summer!

  5. What a GREAT party idea! It looks like it was tons of fun! I'm so glad Trace's prayers were answered and the rain stopped. Can I just say I LOVE the picture of Taylor in the car with her "diva" gloves on - your kids remind me so much of my kids, it's not even funny! Grace is only 3, but she's got a diva in her too! Happy Birthday Trace, so glad you had an awesome party

  7. Awesome pics and slideshow! Unreal that it stopped raining. Tell Trace I would like him to pray that I win the Lotto. And I will share with him. Love that Taylor is in full on princess mode even in the car. I love her! Trace was such a good sport in those casts. He is the best! See you soon!
